Ngyong, it's quite simple. After re-reading Ulysses and a couple of Virginia Woolf novels, DSL felt all hyped up and decided to take up marijuana again. The result are these nonsensical ravings.

Although I can very well imagine that that picture is actually a portrait of DSL something like 20 years ago, I find it hard to believe that he ever went to Esalen. Because if the Institute has ever accepted him as a teacher, speaker or even as a student, then it means its standards have fallen to an abysmal level.

There is lots of Googlable material about Esalen. Lots of touchy-feelie, hot tub, chakra-rubbing and let's get naked stuff going on it seems. Sounds like the doc's milieu, but then...delving very deep into an issue has never been my forte.

I have never questioned whether the doc wanted to go there, only doubted that the Institute would accept him. Bear in mind this is a place, where Huxley, Feynman and many noted scientists gave workshops.
