Hello. Let's talk a bit about size. Personal Photo, Personal Icon and Signature size, that is.
Some users have their monitors set to a low resolution. Huge signatures and personal icons make the pages too wide for said users, having to resort to horizontal scrolling to view the whole page. Scrolling back and forth to read each post becomes very tedious. These guidelines were formulated to allow everybody to browse comfortably throughout the boards.
Please take notice on this set of guidelines and recommendations for the use of personal images:
- Personal Icon Size (the one next to your name): 32x32 pixels at most.
- Signature Size: At most 600 pixels in width. There is no restriction on the height, however 150 pixels is recommended. Let's be nice here.
- The Personal Photo size is automatically adjusted to be 60x60 pixels. However, sometimes we see a 60x60 square on the screen that takes half a minute to load. Therefore it is recommended to use a small image for your personal photo (it's best to use a 60x60 image so no resizing takes place and your image shows up unaltered).
Members using non-compliant images may be asked to remove or resize them. If this is doesn't happen for whatever reason, the posts containing these images may be deleted.
